I know that bacon-wrapped asparagus isn't a new thing, but this smokey-sweet twist is a winner! Be sure to add this to your Easter menu as you start planning. It's so simple + quick!
If you live in the Fayetteville or Springdale, Arkansas area, you can order this recipe (and many others) over at Easy Bins for your Easter menu by 11pm any night and have it on your doorstep by 6am. That's my kind of grocery shopping! It's magic, really.
Smokey Maple Bacon Wrapped Asparagus
1 pack Center Cut Bacon OR Turkey Bacon (need 10 slices)
1 bundle asparagus
1 tbsp butter (I like Kerrygold)
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
Wash and dry asparagus. Trim the ends off. Form groups of 3-4 asparagus spears (depending on how thick the asparagus is). Take one slice of bacon and wrap around asparagus bundles, lengthening the wrap so that it covers a large part of the asparagus. Lay on a greased or parchment paper lined baking sheet. In a saucepan, melt butter on medium low heat. Add pure maple syrup + smoked paprika. Stir together and allow to simmer for a few minutes. Brush each asparagus bundle with sauce. Cook in a 400 degree oven for 15 minutes. You can drizzle any remaining sauce. Makes 10 bundles.
